Today I get to announce the winner of my first ever blog giveaway! This makes me far more excited than it probably should as I’m not a sane person and giving gifts compares to Christmas for me, so THANK YOU to everyone who entered for playing along and making me feel special.
I originally planned to assign a comment # to each reply and have a script generate the winning post’s number, but then with tweets and blog entries, it wasn’t going so smoothly and after reading Kristan’s reply that, “All right, I’ll bite the bullet and be #1, even though everyone knows #1 never wins,” I worried that a random number generator would probably never select the first or last number entered.
Then I took Sean’s old school suggestion to hand write everyone’s entries on EQUAL SIZED SLIPS OF PAPER (we play FAIR in THIS house) and put them into a bowl. Then, so no one could say I was bias, I had Sean mix the slips around and select a winner. And Sean took “mix the slips around and select” to mean shove your giant boy hand into the small bowl, blend those entries like you’re a Kitchen Aid set to “puree” and after 34345453 minutes, announce to me that the winning slip is the one you knocked out of the bowl and onto the floor because, by jumping out of the bowl, it was OBVIOUSLY the most determined… and when he read me the slip, I almost snorted from the coincidence of it all.
So, without further ado, our awesome winner? Why, it’s the fabulous KRISTAN HOFFMAN! Who has just proven that APPARENTLY number one DOES get picked!
And I honestly SWEAR it was not rigged this way!

Hahaha awesome
I’m totally doing a giveaway in a few months, I figure it’s a good way to bribe people to vote for me in the wedding contest in July
Congrats Kristan!
