Welcome to the first installment of my (hopefully) weekly series, “Featured Friday.” Much like ‘New Friend Friday’ and ‘Follow Friday’ — I am sticking to the theme of promoting fabulous people! One of the best things, to ME, about blogging is the friendships that come from it. It’s the new age pen pal system and I love coming across a blogger that I *click* with. So every week, I’ll try to post my little mini-interview with some rocking folks you probably know, or should go check out, and maybe you’ll find someone you adore as well!
First up is the lovely Brittany over at Dude Let’s Blog! Britt has a sense of grounded humor that I find addicting. I somehow managed to find her blog from DAY ONE when every post title was a Mean Girls quote (uhm, instant love, yes?) and I am so forcing her to VISIT ME this August, you’ve no idea! THAT’S how strong this adoration is! She recently moved from a Wordpress account to her own self-hosted domain, so it may look a little sparse at the moment, but it’s growing!

Organized

Sarcastic and Pessimistic
03. What drew you to blogging?
Loneliness. I just moved to Chicago, didn’t know anyone and wanted to meet like minded fun girls (and guys) who I could support and offer support in return. Plus, I’m a bit of a voyeur. I love getting to peek inside of people’s lives.
04. What are two random facts about yourself?
I’m left handed. I have almost thirty (very small, discrete) chicken pox scars on my left arm due to wearing a cast from a broken arm and then catching said Chicken Pox. The doctor’s office wouldn’t remove the cast until the pox had healed. An additional two weeks.
05. If you could have any career, logic/money aside, what would it be?
Lead singer of a punk rock band, a la Joan Jett and the Black Hearts. Or professional Roller Derby girl.

So it has finally been announced — which means I can FINALLY have a PUBLIC effin’ SQUEE! ::SCREAMSINYOURFACE:: (That was totally for you, luvah).
Not too long ago, I decided to apply for a spot on the 20SB Staff. I figured I would happily fill out my little application, they would happily file it away in the “Never Gonna Happen” folder, and we’d all continue on our merry little way.
Then, while wandering through Wal-Mart (um, I swear I do go to OTHER stores, I apparently just never post about it) I got a tweet from Derek that was like… hey retard, are you going to check your email and reply or…? Okay, he was far more polite, but that’s how he SHOULD have said it. I couldn’t find any email — turns out, I have two 20SB profiles and it was going elsewhere.. who lets me near computers, HRMM? — and spazzed out in aisles, repeatedly telling Sean OMG OMG DO YOU THINK HE’D HAVE TWEETED ME IF HE WAS TELLING ME NO?!?! and Sean repeatedly telling me OMG WOMAN CAN YOU HELP PICK OUT GROCERIES SO WE CAN GO HOME.
Anyways, they politely resent it, and I politely struggled through all the steps to get situated aaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnd now I can officially say: I’m on the Events Team Staff for 20SB! And I have NO idea what that even entails so don’t ask but BOY is it GOING. TO. ROCK.
Yeah. I went there.

Apparently, it’s “Flatter Brittney” week, because my second guest post ever is being featured rightthisverysecond at Floreta’s little corner ‘o the web, The Solitary Panda. This is exciting for two reasons.
a) I really like pandas. *misses the point*
b) Her prompt allowed for me to talk about my viewpoint – and we all know I’m a BIG fan of things involving me.
She explains the series over there (related to finding the career that you fit to) so I won’t get into the nitty gritty, but don’t forget to visit and tell her how you loved reading the 2,426 paragraphs in which I ramble about how I had big goals for life — goals involving undersea kingdoms and a social circle that may or may not have included a flounder and a crab.
I’m just sayin’.
