She’s Got 9/10 Pants and a Very Big Bra.

I don’t typically review products here. Not because there aren’t things I don’t love, but for fear folks will assume I’m being paid to review and then suddenly, my whole blog will morph into an advertisement. That being said, there are a few things I have been wanting to review simply on the basis that THEY ARE AWESOME and now is as good a time as any! :)

TitleNine’s Seven Wonders Bra

For those of you who follow my tweets, you know that I have been on the hunt for a sports bra that does what it is supposed to: keep the girls from mcjigglin’ all over. Currently, I have a 34-36DD chest. When I work out, I wear a fancy European sports bra (ShockAbsorber that.. sort of doesn’t do that) and another basic sports bra on top of it. I wear the outer bra in a 36D in an attempt to use compression to keep everything in lock down mode. This works for jogging, kind of.. but jumping jacks? Not at all.

7wondersbra I have tried all sorts of sports bras. Even fancy compression bras that may as well be VESTS aren’t feasible because they dig, pinch and cut into you so badly that you don’t want to work out two days in a row for fear of losing a body part. Another problem for someone who is a bit shorter torso’ed like me is that there isn’t as much room between where my chest starts and where my shoulder starts, and most sports bra straps are not adjustable — meaning even if I find what MIGHT have been a decent sports bra, there is so much slack, nothing will be secured anyways. Rock in a sock, ladies. Rock in a sock.

Out of frustration, I pestered the wonderful Brittany for what she uses. Literally. We are talking 42 texts of me going, “But REALLY, what is the bounce like? No but I mean, REALLY?” She put me on the path to TitleNine’s 7 Wonders Bra. I have to say I was skeptical at first. Would this be yet another uncomfortable or pointless $60 sports bra? Could ONE bra really do the job of the twelve I was destined to end up wearing all at once? I finally caved because it had fairly great reviews and ADJUSTABLE STRAPS. Bonus point for not being the most ugly bra the girls have ever encountered.

To my EXTREME hesitation, I ordered my size. So used to only finding some assistance when going down to a D cup, putting the true DD in my cart made me a little anxious, lol. When it arrived, I had to agree with the other reviewers that this was a little tricky to get into. It’s not just as simple as pulling it over your head — but since those types never held my tata’s where they needed to be, who cares! Plus I was used to the ShockAbsorber, so no big deal. Then I adjusted the straps, which adjust via Velcro and are soft and not awful!! The bra is so much softer than a lot of DD sports bras out there, which is fannnnnnnnnntastic. Then, with a stupid grin on my face, I turned to Sean and began doing… JUMPING JACKS!!

There is not much bounce. This isn’t a compression style where your boobs are so smashed to your ribs they won’t move but are cutting off air, it’s definitely more natural, which I am not used to — and appreciate; but when I say not much bounce, I mean it. Nothing distracting. Nothing painful. Nothing that makes you worry you’ll end up with bewbs sagging to your ankles if you do one more bounce. I would say no bounce, except for if you are anal like me and are used to tight compression styles, you’ll be like LIES!! Because there is just a hint. But for $54 and a few days wait, this girl can do all the jumping rope and jumping jack moves in The 30 Day Shred without using an arm to hold down my chest the entire time!!

Kohl’s All Calm Moisture Cream

I have very sensitive skin. Everyone says this — but I mean it. I can only wear certain brands of makeup, for so many hours, or I break out with zits or a rash. I have to switch facial cleansers every few months (and only use certain ones) because my skin develops issues with each. I break out easily but can’t use a lot of “acne” products because they are so harsh, they cause more breakouts or all out rashes. I have to use baby sunblock because, while zinc tends to actually protect and heal most folks’ skin, it FREAKS mine out. No oils, no creams, etc. It’s kind of pain in the rear — and moving to Texas, home of indecisive weather and gnarly humidity, has been hardly helpful. Come winter, my face is painfully dry. No Brittney-skin-safe moisturizers are powerful enough, no heavy moisturizers are light enough to not cause issues. Even my skin lady at the doctor’s office was like WTF, your skin behaves absolutely opposite than everyone else.

allcalm LUCKY for me, though less lucky for her, I have a wonderful friend with amazing skin who has the same issue. She swore up and down by Kohl’s All Calm cream. CREAM. The very word brings visions of oils, heavy grease and more zits!! Yet she swooooooore by it, so I caved. When it arrived, my first thought was.. are you kidding? This small thing? I’ll use this in a week!!! She warned me ahead of time: A little goes a long way and it doesn’t feel as heavy as it looks. Sure, sure.

Except… EXACTLY. A dime sized amount not only did the job, but it was light, absorbed quickly and for the first time ever, I can wear a “heavy” cream moisturizer that heals, protects, nourishes and keeps my face from being red or zitty. It keeps it “calm,” just as the name suggests. I have not yet tried the rest of the All Calm line, but I imagine it’s fantastic?

And that is all folks!!

I’ve been forever on the hunt for a good sports bra. $54 makes me gasp, but it just might be worth it. Minus the “might.”

$54 for a sports bra that doesn’t mean I have to wear 12 other bras on top? Really. I have to see if they have my freak size. I have those anime boobs, and when they are in a bra that holds them right they are marvlous! I wear a size 12 pants and a size 36 G – thats right – G as in Get a reduction. I know all about gym class where I was the only one allowed to face outward in the circle because these were not things I wanted flopping around in front of hormonal teenage boys. Gah – nightmares for months man. I get the sock in rock – hardcore. No one but the hubs sees me without the bra. EVER. I sleep with one on the bedside table. I am going to check it out – you might just have found something to get me back into public exersize.

I think that you somehow read my mind when you post shit…because JUST THIS WEEKEND i was telling Mike that I’m real tired of being a blob of gross (I went up two small flights of stairs and I wanted to die) and I needed to work out.

Then I thought of the two sports bras I would have to wear, and how afterward I would still cry and cry and cry about the pain. Being a 36D is not that much fun.

Guess who’s researching this over the shoulder boulder holder tomorrow (at work…you know, instead of working)!?!?

I spent like three hours of my morning googling sports bras, because I just can’t find one that holds these dd’s still….and sometimes it gets painful and it’s too hot to wear multiple bras!

and then I signed into google reader and found this lovely post!

thank you for your awesome timing!

Totally going to try that sports bra. I go to this drill class and there is a lot of jumping jacks and it freakin KILLS me. I literally put my hands down to hold the girls down for a moment of relief every 4 jumps or so. :(

That sports bra looks seriously serious.

So I read today’s entry and this one was one of the little “things you may like” at the bottom so I clicked. I have 34DDs (and can apparently do 36D as well the lady at VS told me…but my ribcage is more 34 so I stick with that) as well and truthfully, I wear the over your head kind IN A SMALL. It’s a little hard to get into because hello, my boobs aren’t small. My husband once saw me and he goes “…that looks painful, you’re hurting them!”

Needless to say, I think I’ll try to search one of these bad boys out and give it a shot. People think it’s solely about the bounce and it isn’t. That bounce HURTS after a while.
